Gillian (GG) Ruiz, RDN, CLT

Gillian (also known as GG) was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and was destined to stay close to home. She became interested in nutrition in high school when she attended Salpointe Catholic and found ways to help improve her own personal issues with food and nutrition while playing softball. With a long family line of wildcats, GG knew she had to carry out the tradition and attend the University of Arizona to pursue her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences. After college, GG moved to Dallas, TX to complete her dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center. After finally becoming a registered dietitian, GG decided to move back to wildcat country to give back to the Tucson community and her home.

GG has experience working with a vast variety of patients with different conditions while working as a clinical dietitian. Some include those with diabetes, kidney disease/dialysis, telemetry, critically ill (adult and neonatal), GI surgeries/GI issues, wounds, behavioral issues, and other medical conditions. GG really enjoys creating a safe space for clients to talk openly about nutrition. She believes in mindfulness when it comes to nutrition and creating holistic, realistic, and personalized goals for her clients. With this, GG is passionate about all aspects of nutrition and is excited to bring these passions together towards her outpatient career.

GG enjoys traveling, cooking and eating her way around Tucson, going to concerts, hiking around Sabino canyon and Mt Lemmon, and of course cheering on all UofA athletics (Bear Down).
